About Brian and Amy

AMY AND BRIAN
Brian is a proud Northern Irishman, Ulster Rugby fan, and music lover. Amy is a passionate plant enthusiast, gardener, and chutney maker from Adelaide, Australia. We were lucky enough to find each other while we were on a cruise, and have been virtually inseparable ever since.

Brian has been gardening in Ards for many years and is used to the acidic, often rocky soil and temperamental weather. In addition to his expertise with family favorite vegetables like potatoes and cabbage, Brian's creativity with found objects and wood has produced many beautiful and useful sculptures and planters.

TRIPOD PLANTERS CREATED BY
BRIAN FROM FOUND WOOD
Amy's gardening experience in Australia and her love of unusual plants has introduced a very different horticultural pallet, and her quirky (often stubborn) way of doing things is a perfect counterpoint to Brian's traditional gardening background. Our garden at home is a showcase of the colours, textures, and scents that we love, and a haven for wildlife. Our allotment is all about productivity and experimenting. We grow fruits and vegetables that are expensive or difficult to find in the shops, and things that get the grand kids excited about gardening. We grow flowers for the house, and use our soft fruit to make jams, chutneys and liqueurs that we share with friends and family as well as enjoying ourselves. Our garden is a huge part of our lives and our health, and we are so excited to share it with you.
